You just don't have the frameworks to make lasting change in your life. With all the different opinions and abundance of information out there, it's hard to decipher out what works and what doesn't. It doesn't mean you don't have the intelligence to figure it out, but it will cost you much time with trial and error.
Sure, you could bang your head on an issue over and over again, but it's only going to cause unnecessary suffering.
I'm not going to share some "radical life changing story" (although I have a few)... rather a story of how as an Underdog, I glimpsed into my potential.
Yes that's me with the steel chain and white beater. (picture was taken behind the counter of an unused portable kitchen, I know, of all places right?)
I was the scrawny, skinny Asian kid that listened to hip hop in the 2000s and thought that he was a rapper. My artist name was 'Yung Jowa.' (but that's a story for another day)
Anyways, about 8 years ago I had a particular question for an executive at an international company in Hong Kong, where I had lived for about a year at the time.
I had moved there from a middle class suburb in New York after dreaming of going global and doing something with my life.
"How do I get ahead of my peers when everyone is on a similar starting point?" I asked.
"First of all, no one has a similar starting point. Some people have a bigger advantage, some less. If you want to move up in the world, you are going to have to create LEVERAGE through a PLATFORM," He replied.
Confused I probed deeper, "What do you mean by a platform?"
"It means that you can get people to come to you, instead of you going to them. For starters, I suggest you pick up golf."
It was then that I made a decision, that looking back, proved to be both rewarding and amazing...
