Re: How to break free of obscurity and start living a life you desire... NOW!

Does This Sound Familiar...

You have big goals and dreams for your future... Maybe you wrote them down on a piece of paper, typed it up, or even had it 'visualized' with pictures of your dream car or house as your computer wallpaper. Perhaps one of the goals was how much money you were going to make by a certain age.. another how much further ahead you would be in your career... or maybe it was a relationship goal, how you were going to find your significant other and sail off into the sunset..

You've wished for your goals, prayed for them, even worked hard for them. Yet, at the end of the day, your vision and reality seem worlds apart.

You're sick and tired of seeing others seemingly cruising along, achieving results with little effort when you know for a fact you are much smarter, hard working, and resilient than them.

You've probably seen peers and others brag about how great life is right now for them, and how 'blessed' they are. While you are in a dark room feeling terrible about your situation.

Facebook and Instagram has amplified that effect even further. Even as you are aware that people only showcase their highlight reel, still.. It seems that EVERYONE is doing better than you. Those glossy photos from a weekend in Bali, or a ski trip in the Alps has you sick to your stomach. You constantly ask yourself, "Why couldn't that be me?!"

Maybe you didn't come from a wealthy or affluent family. Or the resources didn't seem to land onto your lap. In short, you were never given a silver spoon. You prided yourself with your sense of independence and willingness to learn and earn your keep.

Even so, all the hard work, visualization, and goal setting seem to fall short of glory. You are not where you want to be in your life.

You might have a job, but it only pays the bills and is barely getting you by. Or you may have started a business, but that too is struggling.

Life seems to be a constant game of tug of war, struggling and trying to get ahead in a world of increasing competition. And at times, it seems that you are losing this game. That the rope is slowly slipping from your worn down and callused hands. And you're falling into obscurity.

I want you to understand one important thing right now!

None of It Is Your Fault!

You just don't have the frameworks to make lasting change in your life. With all the different opinions and abundance of information out there, it's hard to decipher out what works and what doesn't. It doesn't mean you don't have the intelligence to figure it out, but it will cost you much time with trial and error.

Sure, you could bang your head on an issue over and over again, but it's only going to cause unnecessary suffering.

I'm not going to share some "radical life changing story" (although I have a few)... rather a story of how as an Underdog, I glimpsed into my potential.

Yes that's me with the steel chain and white beater. (picture was taken behind the counter of an unused portable kitchen, I know, of all places right?)

I was the scrawny, skinny Asian kid that listened to hip hop in the 2000s and thought that he was a rapper. My artist name was 'Yung Jowa.' (but that's a story for another day)

Anyways, about 8 years ago I had a particular question for an executive at an international company in Hong Kong, where I had lived for about a year at the time.

I had moved there from a middle class suburb in New York after dreaming of going global and doing something with my life.

"How do I get ahead of my peers when everyone is on a similar starting point?" I asked.

"First of all, no one has a similar starting point. Some people have a bigger advantage, some less. If you want to move up in the world, you are going to have to create LEVERAGE through a PLATFORM," He replied.

Confused I probed deeper, "What do you mean by a platform?"

"It means that you can get people to come to you, instead of you going to them. For starters, I suggest you pick up golf."

It was then that I made a decision, that looking back, proved to be both rewarding and amazing...

I Got Obsessed with Figuring Out How to Get Ahead!

On August 21st, 2012 I held my first golf outing at a local driving range. It was done through a Meetup group that I had set up on a whim..

In the end, only 1 other person showed up. But I didn't let that discourage me. I held activities THREE times per week for the next 3 months, but by the end of November I was ready to throw in the towel. All I wanted to do was to find other people to play golf with, as my way of 'networking' and meeting other people much more successful than me.

But over that time, the attendance rate was dismal, and often nights I would find myself playing alone.

That was until I met the person that would co-found a society with me. Together, we built up a community of high quality individuals that bonded through golf.

Fast forward 5 years and I find myself in the parade ring at the horse-racing club. This was somewhere that.... if you asked that little scrawny Asian kid, would have laughed at the idea of standing next to affluent and well-to-do individuals.

From inside the ring, I looked out and saw the stands where everyone else sat. It was a sobering moment, because I felt, perhaps I didn't belong in the ring, but rather in the stands.

Everyone in the ring had easy access to each other. It was straightforward to strike a conversation with virtually anyone there. For once, I finally felt that opportunities were all around me.

Yet no one told me all I had to do was to put myself in the RIGHT ROOM.

It was in that moment, I glimpse into the potential of who I could be.

"Opportunities have been under my nose the whole time"

Let me ask you a question. Have you ever told yourself that you were meant to do more with your life?

That somehow, you were destined to be great. Are you done playing small, shrinking in the corner, hiding from the greatness that a part of you?

Perhaps you haven't been able to see it yet. The same way I wasn't able to when I started out my journey. That's absolutely fine.

In the last couple of years, I've been able to get really good at creating opportunities.

I've been fortunate enough to:
  • Create a membership only golf society from scratch.
  • Build up a network with millionaires, billionaires, even celebrities and influencers.
  • Earn more than 3X of that my peers within 9 months of graduating university (despite being the bottom 3 of my class).
  • Give a workshop for Fortune 500 executives before age 25
  • Interview world class entrepreneurs, Hollywood producers, and industry experts on my podcast.
  • Work with clients from 3 different continents while travelling and living in 5 different countries.
Yet you and I are not so different. I was a terrible student. Everyday I would come home from school and play video games. Even to this day, I still have an addiction to first person shooters and massive multi-player games. On top of that, I was lazy. I never really gain a solid work ethic.

It was then I realized that although some work really hard, at the end of the day, it truly is who you know, the relationships you have built, and the people that you have helped along the way.

Most experts out there won't give you the blueprint. But I will because
